La Grande Motte et des cerfs-volants

I was in Southern France for 5 days and on Saturday went for a walk on the sea shore in La Grande Motte. I like architecture and find the buildings of this resort town fascinating. This town was founded in the 1950's. Last week end took place this event with many kites in the sky. I liked this.

Art dans la rue

That is Art on the street! For a long time the plinth of a former statue had stood here alone. Maybe the former statue was taken by the Germans to be melt and turned into weapons, who knows. Until a few month ago when this big Apple was but on it!
For the record, some years ago, a friend of mine and I complained that empty plinth and pedestals were to be found everywhere and we should use them again for modern art. Obviously we were not the only ones to think like this...

Mon "nouvel" univers

Here is were I spend my days: the Université Dauphine which was, until 1966, the seat of NATO. That is very practical to us because we can use former conference rooms and Interpretation booths. ;) Of course we don't occupy all the building only an aisle on second (UK speaking) floor.
The building seen from above is built like an A that stands for Atlantic. (a new building destroys the view though).

Tu jest budynek mojej szkoły. Był do 1966r siedzibą NATO. To jest bardzo praktyczne dla nas dlatego, że możemy korzystać z byłych sal konferencyjnych z kabinami tej organizacji. Jesteśmy zakwarterowani na drugim piętrze.
Z lotu ptaka, budynek wygląda jak A w Atlantyku.

Passerelle Léopold Sedar Senghor

Budowany w 1997-1999r, od 2006r nazywa się ten most po Léopold Sédar-Senghor, poeta, pisarz i polityk pochodzący z Senegalu. Był też ministrem w francuskim rządzie przed niepodległością Senegalu oraz członkiem Akademii francuskiej.

Built in 1997-1999, this bridge has been named after Léopold Sédar Senghor since 2006. Sedar Senghor was a poet, writer and politician from Senegal. He was also Minister in French government before his country became independent and was a member of the Académie française.

Witam Wszyscy!

Od dawna nic nie napisałam. Widzę, że ostatnią wiadomość napisałam półtora lat temu! Nie dobrze!
Od tej porym dużo się stało. Opuściłam pracę dlatego, że zdałam egzamin wstępny do szkoły tłumaczów mówiących ESIT. Tymczasowo mniej podróżuję ale chciałabym blogować dalej...

I haven't written here for such a long time! My last note is 18 month old! Not good! Since then lot of things have happened but the most important is that I quit my job because I went back to college to do a Master in Conference Interpreting at ESIT. For the moment I travel less and have few free time but I'd like to blog again...

Cela fait longtemps que je n'ai rien posté ici et ce n'est pas bien! ;p Mais il s'est passé de nombreuses choses dans ma vie depuis 18 mois, la plus importante est que j'ai quitté mon boulot honni pour devenir interprète de conférence et donc y travaille d'arrache pied! Mais je vais essayer de rebloguer car je trouve l'idée toujours sympathique.
